this is our in-store jewellery cleaner. thisis designed to be used either at the retail counter or to be used in the workshop area.it is designed to be completely automatic. there is no need for operator training becausethere is absolutely nothing that anybody can do wrong. it switches it's self on, switchesit's self off, the electrolyte (ion-sol) can't do any damage to stones, it;s simple to use.this is the control unit, that controls the amount of electrical current that is goingthrough the item of jewellery. this is the electrolyte, which we call ion-sol. this isdesigned to be used in the jewellery retail environment which means that the items thatare cleaned are not heavily tarnished. but just to give you an idea of how effectivethat this system is i have a fork. you are
probably wondering why i have a fork, wheni'm talking about jewellery cleaning, it's just that the fork is quite large, and youwill be able to see the changes that happen... it works by electrical energy, it is a controlledionic reduction reaction - that means that it's not going to be very much current goingthrough the item of jewellery, so it can't do any damage. when i touch this fork, youwill see the change... you can see also, that the surface is shiny underneath that tarnishas it was the day it was first polished. earlier in the demonstration i showed you the traditionalway of cleaning this particular ring. there were problems involved - because i had tobe very careful not to touch the fresh water pearl with the buffing mop. also this mattedarea of silver here, and that was very difficult
to clean, but it's so simple using this jcrprocess. all you do is just dip it in the solution, leave it in for a couple of seconds, then you take it out and rinse it (in water), then you pat it dry. and you will see quitea difference if you compare what we did previously you can see how clean it is in the matte area...of course it can't do any damage to the stone. other items are particularly difficult toclean are ear rings like this... this area of polished gold and there is a matted area.normally that would be very hard to clean, but in this case it just makes things so easy.you just hook it on (this will make the electrical connection), it goes into the solution...leave it in there just a couple of seconds, take it out, rinse it in the water, and thenpat it dry. that is now as clean is it was
the day it was made by the jeweller. i willjust hold it up to the camera so that you can see.
